Outdoor dog training classes
Social/ training group
Saturdays, 10am, 45 minutes.
£10 per class per dog (£15 for 2 dogs with one handler)
At Longmead sports ground in Tonbridge, where the Tonbridge Angels football stadium is (TN10 3JF).
This doesn't run every week, so please contact Sarah if you're interested in coming.
Suitable for sociable puppies and dogs. If your dog is reactive, you will need to book a one-to-one with Sarah first.
Covers:
- Foundation skills - sit, down, stay, recall/ focus, loose lead walking.
- Socialisation to people and other dogs, and habituation to the sights and sounds of a busy park.
- Lead handling skills, and managing greetings with other dogs and people.
- fun skills including obedience, tricks, agility and hoopers

Things to bring: short lead (or double-ended lead) attached to a flat collar and/ or well-fitting, non-constricting harness - headcollars are also okay if your dog tends to pull when excited. Bring lots of small tasty food treats in a treat pouch (or pocket), and water when the weather is hot.

Foundation skills including recall and fetch - all ages
Tuesdays, 10am, 45 minutes.
£10 per class per dog (£15 for 2 dogs with one handler)
Tonbridge sports ground (near the swimming pool TN9 1HR)
Suitable for dogs who have already had a one-to-one session with Sarah, or who have attended Sarah's other classes. This is about practising skills around other dogs, and in a distracting park environment (people, dogs, pigeons, squirrels, bikes and other vehicles). Frustrated-reactive or nervous-reactive dogs can attend if Sarah thinks they will be able to cope and learn some good lessons without becoming overly stressed, but must have had at least one private session with Sarah and Rufus first.
Covers:
- Foundation skills (sit, down, stay, come, close/ heel).
- Recall and fetch/ tug games
- Focus and attention; and building motivation.
- Walking calmly without pulling.
- Watching distractions without reacting/ trying to get closer.
- Coping near other people/ dogs/ animals/ sounds/ movement.
- Some fun stuff too!

Things to bring: a completed registration form (see below); a short lead (or double-ended lead) attached to a flat collar, head halter or non-constricting body harness; a longline or sturdy extendable lead; non-squeaky toys to fetch or tug; a plentiful supply of treats; water for your dog in hot weather.
Loose lead walking and coping with distractions - all ages
Thursdays, 10am, 45mins
£10 per class per dog (£15 for 2 dogs with one handler)
Various locations eg Hayesden, longmead, swanmead, penshurst etc to be able to practise in different areas with different distractions.
Suitable for frustrated-reactive or nervous-reactive dogs who have had at least one private training session with Sarah and Rufus.
Not suitable for dogs who show aggression towards other dogs and do not want to get close/ make friends/ be sociable, or dogs who react at great distances - more one-to-one training will be required first.

These take place at a park in Tonbridge (Longmead or Tonbridge sports ground near the swimming pool) or other suitable location.
For any age/ stage of dog.
You can request to go on the list, and then Sarah can arrange a shared session with others who are interested. Shared sessions means you can work with others, and share the cost too.
